  • This Saturday 3rd December will see the Apprentice Boys of Derry Assoication take to the streets of Londonderry in commemoration of the brave actions of the 13 Apprentice Boys who closed the gates of the City in defiance of King James II back in 1688.

  • The Siege Museum is delighted to be open on Friday 23rd September for Culture Night 2022.

  • Walker's Plinth will remain open to the public on Friday and Saturday afternoons throughout the Summer. Visit Royal Bastion or climb to the top of the Plinth for a great viewing point - our Siege characters will be there to meet you.

  • Our 17th Century soldiers will be outside the Siege Museum this Saturday and every other Saturday (except Saturday 13th August) throughout the Summer, giving a demonstration on the firing of the Siege cannon and musket. 12-4pm.

  • We are thankful to The Pilgrim Trust and the Association of Independent Museums for the funding that enabled the Siege Museum to carry out a Collection Care Audit of our inventory.

    The results of the audit will be used by the museum to produce their care and conservation policy and plan.
     

  • This Saturday 18th June will see the Walker Parent Club take to the streets of Londonderry for their annual initiation day. As a result the Siege Museum will close its doors at 2pm due to the social function in the Memorial Hall.

     

    Parade leaves Rossdowney at 11am.

  • The Easter Bank Holiday weekend opening hours at the Siege Museum are as follows; 

  • We would like to inform all our customers that the museum will remain closed to mid January for essential maintenance work.  We will update with a confrimed re-opening date in due course.

  • Saturday 4th December marks the annual Shutting of the Gates commemorations in Londonderry.  The Siege Museum will keep its ground floor open on this day until 3pm with no entry cost. We hope everyone coming to the City has a peaceful and safe day.

  • It was an honour for the Siege Museum to host a visit for Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, today 2 November 2021, following which the Trustees of the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall extended an invitation to the adjacent building.
